The hallowed corridors of Canton’s Pro Football Hall of Fame celebrate the greatest players to ever battle for supremacy on the gridiron. A great political figure is also immortalized throughout the city – William McKinley, the 25th President of the United States. In addition to a healthy dose of pigskin memorabilia and presidential history, visitors to the area have access to 21 outstanding public golf courses.

Acclaimed and well-maintained, it’s not hard to fathom why Norwalk’s Eagle Creek Golf Club has come to be beloved by everyone who comes face-to-face with the course, whether it’s a frequent visitor or a traveling golfer just passing through.

The Brian Huntley-designed layout was recently rated as one of the top public courses in Ohio, garnering a “Best Places to Play” distinction and 4.5 out of 5 stars from Golf Digest. A big reason for that considerable achievement is the superb shape the course is consistently kept in. From the start of the Ohio golf season until the bitter end, the staff at Eagle Creek diligently works to ensure that the club’s reputation as having the best possible greens isn’t lost.

Popular Ohio radio and television personality Jimmy Hanlin, who hosts “Tee it Up Ohio” on Sportstime Ohio and co-hosts a weekly radio golf show in Cleveland, had a vision when he first purchased a stake in Little Mountain Country Club in 2006 – develop an award-winning golf course where the on-course experience was mirrored by all-around service.

Today that vision has become reality, and it’s expanding. In 2007 Jimmy Hanlin Golf purchased Pataskala’s Cumberland Trail Golf Club. The latest addition to the group’s roster was Highland Heights’ StoneWater Golf Course. Those courses join the nationally recognized Little Mountain, one of only 17 courses in the country to receive a Five Star rating from Golf Digest in 2007, to create an outstanding trio of layouts that offer golfers impeccable conditions, dedicated service and tremendous value.
