A short drive from Canton, Wilkshire Golf Club is a popular gathering point for avid Ohio golfers. Almost 40 years ago the sound of construction equipment awakened residents of Bolivar as the golf course prepared to come to life. The Times Reporter published an article in 1969 that read, “The sound of the heavy equipment chugging its way across the terrain signals the birth of an extravagant plan to enhance an already beautiful area.” The little Wilkshire Golf Club is still chugging along as it prepares for 2009. Today the course features a totally automated irrigation system that ensures plush playing conditions almost year-round, a new clubhouse with locker rooms and a well-stocked pro shop, plus a heated driving range ideal for practicing during the winter months. Wilkshire Golf Club is the perfect place for company outings, practicing your technique or just getting in an enjoyable round.
