One of the main directives Cleveland Metroparks operates under is the mission to enhance people’s lives by providing safe, high-quality outdoor recreation. Not only is golf an exceptional outdoor opportunity, but it’s environmentally friendly as well. Thus the partnership between Cleveland Metroparks, and the game of golf is a natural fit.
The organization operates seven courses located conveniently throughout Cuyahoga county that vary from sporting par-3 facilities like Shawnee Hills and Mastick Woods, to championship-level layouts such as Manakiki and Sleepy Hollow, which challenge even the most accomplished golfers.
Cleveland Metroparks offers an online tee time reservation service that can be accessed any hour of any day. Tee times can be reserved online at the following Cleveland Metroparks golf courses: Manakiki, Sleepy Hollow, Shawnee Hills and Big Met. Tee times can be made five days in advance, beginning at noon, and cost a non-refundable booking fee of only $1.
In the upcoming year, Cleveland Metroparks will also be offering a 2009 Academy of Golf. The mission of the academy is to provide a variety of high quality learning opportunities for golfers of all skill levels, age and gender, to improve their golf skills, knowledge and enjoyment of the game. Ultimately the goal of the academy is to meet everyone’s individual golf goals.
The golf season in Cleveland Metroparks begins in mid-March and continues through December, weather permitting. The courses are open daily from dawn to dusk.
